If there is one type of mutual fund that you want to make sure you invest in, it's no load mutual funds. Although people might tell you otherwise, there is no reason why a smart investor like yourself should be investing dollars into anything other than no load mutual funds.
The main differences between load and no load mutual funds are that the latter require you to pay a sales commission just for buying into the fund. Like I said, there is no real reason why you should have to do this.
When it comes to mutual funds, there is so much informational available on the Internet that no investor should feel they need to pay commission for someone to make choices for them. With no load mutual funds, you are basically affirming that you are capable of making an intelligent decision on your own and would rather spend your extra dollars securing your financial future instead of paying an agent's salary.
You should keep in mind that study after study has proven that over the long run, there is really no advantage to choosing load mutual fund over no load mutual funds. In fact, the only difference is actually accounted for in the amount of commission you will be paying out.
No load mutual funds are a gift to the investor who is willing to take matters into his own hands and do away with unnecessary middle men. Make sure that you affirm your independence and make the right decision.
